3 Interpretations William Rose with Dan Graham, Andrew Lampert, Joe Mawson, Bruce McClure, Rhiannon Silver Wednesday 24 June, 9–10.30pm
3 Interpretations is an event made up of three short experimental film/performance works whose staging and presentation are open-ended and interpretable. Organised by myself, in collaboration with Silver Mawson, the evening will include a restaging of conceptual artist Dan Graham’s reflexive 1972 performance Past Future Split Attention; and two new collapsible film performances conceived specifically for the occasion, and sent in the form of instructions by US artists Andrew Lampert and Bruce McClure. (Will Rose)
3 Interpretations is: – Myself / Mawson / Rose – Myself / Mawson / our artwork – us three / other artist(s) / audience – 3 artworks in the event by 3 artists – artwork / audience / space (Rhiannon Silver)
3 Interpretations is curated by Will Rose and invites the participation of Rhiannon Silver and Joe Mawson. 3 Interpretations will show works conceived by Dan Graham, Bruce McClure and Andrew Lampert, brought to Hell Yes in the form of instructions. Negotiating various positions of authorship, the series of works completed by the three will see them shift between artist, curator, artwork, participant and audience. (Joe Mawson)
