‘I Can See The World Through Stars…’
Constructed from strips of
the official Leeds City Centre map, the small origami stars Lucy makes
appear to contain something intangible. Moving around, inviting people
to tell her a story about the city, the artist folds the star as the
visitor speaks, capturing their story inside. When the story and the
star are completed, the visitor is presented with it, and a choice:
either keep the star intact, holding forever within it the story they
have told, or open it up and return to the stable terrain of the map.
