in the process of relocating to the former Carlsberg Tetley Headquarters
Building in Leeds’ city centre. We are currently in an interim period whilst
the new building is being re-developed before opening in Summer 2013.
EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST and PROPOSALS
PSL is committed to working with emerging and established artists, curators,
producers and other creatives from all over the world who engage with current
critical debates in contemporary art. We programme through a combination of
invitation and in response to proposals. Our projects are often developed
through a co-curatorial process with artists. We welcome proposals from
artists, freelance curators, writers and educators and appreciate proposals
that consider the contemporary art focus of our organisation, our past
programme and the architecture of the project space we programme within.
Our new home at the former Carlsberg Tetley Headquarters is a stunning
1930s Art Deco building steeped in history and remains one of Leeds' most
iconic buildings. As PSL, the building will become a cultural hub for the city
with galleries, dedicated learning spaces, cafe/bar and outdoor playground. Although
the main gallery spaces will be located on the first floor (former offices and
central atrium space), we envisage the programme inhabiting the whole building
and it’s immediate surroundings, to encompass a variety of spaces with original
architectural features such as wood panelling and parquet flooring.
Images and a detailed plan of the new space at the Tetley Building will be
available to download at the bottom of this page in the near future. If you would like to submit an idea, please send us the following information

Opportunities for artists working on participation and learning projects:
We are keen to work with artists and creative practitioners in developing and delivering participation and learning activity at PSL. This ranges from artist-led, programmed events to participatory projects developed in collaboration with artists as part of their practice. We are currently developing our learning and participation programme and are keen to hear from experienced artists who would like to contribute to this. Please download our 'Artist-Educator brief' for more information.
For artists, students or recent graduates with no or very little experience of delivering participatory or learning activity, we can offer support and informal training on a voluntary basis. Please download our 'Trainee Artist-Educator' brief for more information.
Please contact Kathryn Welford, PSL Education Officer to discuss or find out more about learning and participation programmes at PSL.
